Focus Areas:
The Mid-Ohio Knitters Guild is dedicated to the art and craft of hand knitting. Membership is open to knitters of all skill levels, and beginners are encouraged. We teach, learn, share our ideas and knit for various community projects. Our members are a constant source of inspiration for new projects or rescuing knitting projects. We are a diverse group and welcome all new and experienced knitters.
Outreach:
MOKG sponsors an annual "Knit Out" event, which is free and open to the public. The program will include basic craft instruction, various contests, and many door prizes, and is usually held in the fall season.
MOKG brings in nationally recognized knitting designers and teachers to present workshops.
Twice a year, MOKG rents a local park lodge for a Saturday, where members enjoy knitting and potluck in a relaxing atmosphere.
We also take road trips. In April 2005, we visited Blackmore Vale Farm to learn about alpacas.
MOKG coordinates community knitting for those wishing to donate their work to local domestic violence shelters, neonatal intensive care units, and other charitable causes.
