If you are interested in more information about our guild, please email us at : dsmknitting@hotmail.com - We publish a monthly newsletter with information about knitting and news from the knitting world and sponsor Knit & Chats in various venues in Des Moines. Dues, for fiscal year July to June, with no July meeting, are $12.

Meetings:
We meet the first Tuesday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Urbandale Public Library on 86th Street. Our meeting consists of an introduction of new members/guests, a short business meeting, a program to demonstrate a specific technique or demonstration or discussion of something knitting-related, show-and-tell for members to show their latest project, either finished or in progress and time to knit & chat. For several years, the guild has sponsored a workshop based on the format of large class offerings sponsored by XRX and Knitters Magazine where there are several choices for classes offered at one time. Our instructors are knitters with many years of experience.

Focus Areas:
The Des Moines Knitting Guild (DMKG) is a non-profit corporation and has been meeting for almost 14 years. Our membership is comprised of all levels of knitters and interests, all ages, education levels, professionals, stay-at-homes etc. We all have one overall interest in knitting. We also encourage knitting for charity and organize the support for several charitable organizations that benefit from our members' generosity by providing knitted hats and mittens for those who are less fortunate. The DMKG is well-established and is a forum for friendship and camaraderie with knitting and learning as its foundation. There is room for everyone from beginners to experienced knitters.
